LDA is in partnership with INDIGO Education, St. Paul School of Northern Lights, and a network of charter schools statewide to provide funding for tuition. The partnership secured a 5-year grant from the MN Department of Education’s Special Educator Pipeline grant to increase the number of licensed special educators in charter schools statewide.
Teacher candidates who work in charter schools supported by INDIGO Education’s special ed leadership may apply for tuition support if they are enrolled in LDA’s program, SMSU’s para-t0-sped program, or Bethel’s special education MA program. There are limited funds per year available.
Teacher candidates must be accepted and enrolled in one of these programs to apply for Pipeline tuition funding. The partnership is prioritizing funding for teacher candidates who work in schools with few Tier 3 or 4 special education teachers, candidates who have an interest in staying in the field of special eductin, and staying in the charter school community.
To apply for Pipeline funding, please complete this survey. You must be accepted into LDA, SMSU or Bethel to qualify. You will be notified of an award and will be requested to complete a grant agreement form.
