Executive functions consist of a variety of “higher order” mental processes and behaviors. They are mental skills that help the brain organize and act on information. These skills help a person to plan, organize, remember things, prioritize, pay attention, and start on tasks. Many individuals with ADHD, LD or ASD struggle in the area of executive functioning. Tutors and teachers will learn more about this topic and be provided with strategies and interventions for the different executive functioning areas. The focus of this session is students in K-12 and is presented by Dr. Rachel David, LDA’s Education Services Manager.
